See this great blog post by CEO Carl Bass for more info on their vision. Autodesk has committed to offering the software for free (including 3 2 machining capability!) for hobbyists, educators, and businesses making less than $100,000 per year. We are really excited about the offerings of Fusion 360 and believe that it will make a huge difference for our users as well as a ton of makers, educators, and start-ups the world over. It also allows us to further explore the capabilities of Autodesk's new, cloud-based CAD/CAM solution, Fusion 360. Our last round of capes for our BeagleBone Black have full functionality which has enabled us to FINALLY move ahead with testing our hardware. We have had a very exciting couple of months here at PocketNC. Fusion 360 with multi-axis tool paths is only offered freely to educators and students (with a valid education email address) and start-ups can apply for a license if they make under a certain amount. Of course you have to update the installer exe and flag file and change the install detection file name for each update but it is quite quick.ĮCHO OFFIF EXIST "c:\program files\Autodesk" GOTO PROCUPDstart %~dp0Fusion360AdminInstall.exe -globalinstall -quietGOTO MKFLG:PROCUPDrmdir "c:\program files\Autodesk" /Q /Sstart %~dp0Fusion360AdminInstall.exe -globalinstall -quiet:MKFLGxcopy %~dp0ver2012157.Please note changes came to Fusion 360 licenses in 2019 and again in 2020. I am a beginner at scripting and don't go near powershell but the process I used may help you. SCCM uses the version file that is copied over to detect successful install / update. ![]() I tried the updating path as suggested by Autodesk's relevant support page but in the end gave up with it and after some trial and error used the bat/cmd file (as below) in SCCM that is a bit lacking in finesse but I think works. I ordered one graphics card to test as was led to believe they were required in every PC with Fusion (about 30 in our case) but fortunately in the end didn't even open the box and sent it back no charge. OK the standalaone installer is quite big but we have now have i5s as well and they seem fine. Well on balance it is at least for now going quite well here at SMRT Bristol as far as Fusion goes. Hoping this helps !, takes a little time to update also to an educational license after you fill all this info in. This asks for the name of the school etc, and also asks for start and end dates for the pupil. I was not aware of potential expiration for student accounts.Īs noted, when we create a new account the registration process does not mention education and you only get a 30-day trial period.Having not signed up for this before, i also noticed if you signup via the program there is no mention of the Education licence. It appears that their accounts worked for a year, but now expired - but we have other students where their Fusion 360 accounts are working fine, and have the 'student' products
